Barry Woods Johnston

- Tree of Life - Bronze sculpture by Barry Johnston

Tree of Life (also named Holocaust Gate )1986, Silver & Bronze,

 20" x 12" x 4", Edition 8

These small portals express the spiritual, humanitarian, and intellectual contributions of the Jewish people as they have strengthened and rebuilt after the devastation of the Holocaust, from their enduring faith and their strong roots, shared now by so many religions in the millennia since their ancient origins.

“People from all cultures, nationalities and social spheres recognize in Johnston’s sculptures something of themselves - personal, therefore deeply moving - because he imbues his art with universal themes of joy or anguish, devotion or grief, mercy or some other essential human sentiment.”                                                                                                    Steve Mirabella, Art Critic
