Prodigal Son
1986, Bronze, Life-size, Edition
7
The artist presents us with a life sized male figure, hand outstretched
in with hope of mercy, yet clearly believing himself unworthy; the
rebellious son returning to his loving father, as the story is told in the
New Testament. As the parable continues the son, despite his wayward
behavior, is welcomed with open arms and feasting when he returns home,
poor and weary from his hedonistic exploits; his loving father’s
acceptance knows no bounds. |
