Westminster Presbyterian Church Processional Cross 2002, bronze, wood, glass This fusion of bronze, cherry wood, and stained glass embody the tragic act of the crucifixion and the glorious passion of Jesus Christ on the cross. Avoiding a figurative image of worship, rays of light explode out of an unseen spiritual center representing the Spiritual Center of God, bursting through a crown of thorns and halo of multi-colored stained glass to embrace the Westminister house of worship. In this expression, the love of Jesus transcends the unimaginable suffering, ridicule, and darkness of hate and deceit, thus becoming a testament of His divine commitment to revealing to us God’s righteousness and light of truth. |
